Sundeep Kishan’s fun entertainer Mazaka was released yesterday on the auspicious Maha Shivaratri day. The film was directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, known for delivering solid masala entertainers. Ritu Varma played the female lead. The commercial potboiler opened to mixed reviews from critics, and word of mouth is no different.
According to trade reports, Mazaka collected nearly Rs. 3 crores gross worldwide on its opening day. If we compare Dhamaka and Mazaka, the former benefitted from the chartbuster songs, but the latter fell short in this key aspect, and the same was reflected in the openings. Since the breakeven target is Rs. 11 crores, the film needs to witness significant growth over the weekend.
Manmadhudu fame Anshu made a comeback with this flick, and she starred opposite Rao Ramesh. Mazaka is produced jointly by Razesh Danda and Umesh KR Bansal under the banners of AK Entertainment, Hasya Movies, and Zee Studios. Leon James is the music composer. Prasanna Kumar Bezawada penned the story, screenplay, and dialogues.
