New Delhi: Singer Monali Thakur was admitted to a hospital in Dinhata (Cooch Behar, West Bengal) after she struggled to breathe during a live performance recently.

Monali Thakur was performing at the Dinhata Festival in Cooch Behar on Tuesday evening. A video from the live show went viral on Facebook. In the video, the singer can be seen stopping her performance midway. She apologised to the audience present over there as she felt sick and couldn’t continue her performance.

Monali was first rushed to Dinhata Sub-District Hospital, reported News 18. Then the singer was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The singer was admitted to a private hospital in Cooch Behar. She is currently undergoing the treatment there, as per the report.

Earlier this month, Monali Thakur hit headlines after she walked off the stage midway during her performance in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Later, Monali, addressing the harassment accusations by the event management team against her and her crew, clarified how the management mistreated the vendors and exploited them

“It is absolutely unacceptable to treat vendors poorly, cheat them of their hard-earned money, or con them in any way.

“Disrespecting and harassing those working behind the scenes- whether they are backstage crew, artist managers, or artist coordinators-is not the way forward,” she wrote in her Instagram post.

She had also attached an apology letter from the organisers along with her note

He said that he left his village in Bihar and moved to Mumbai as a teenager, where he was desperate for work because he’d seen unimaginable poverty as a youth. During this phase, some people tried to take advantage of him, but he displayed patience and didn’t give in to their demands.

In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube, Ravi Kishan was asked if it’s true that even men are victimised by sexual predators in the Mumbai film industry. He said, “When you’re young and good-looking, when you’re fit but have no money, some people attempt to take advantage of you. This happens in several fields, not just in the films. They try their hand, and hope it works out.”

He continued, “I have faced many such attacks in my youth. I was lean, I had long hair, I wore an earring. I would like to tell everyone out there that there are no shortcuts to success. I know of many people who’ve tried to take such shortcuts, and have regretted it immensely. They’ve slipped into addictions, or they’ve taken their lives.”

Ravi Kishan said that he chose to remain patient, and not take an easy path to success and stardom. “I haven’t seen anybody become a star through the shortcut method. Wait for your time to come; have patience. I would tell myself that one day the sun will rise for me. All my friends in the ’90s, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, they became superstars. But I waited for my time,” he said.

Ravi Kishan was most recently seen in the film Laapataa Ladies, which was selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars. It failed to make the longlist in the Best International Feature category. He also stars in the Netflix series Maamla Legal Hai, which will return for a second season.

I want to make it clear that my family has always been behind any decision I’ve made.”

Threat against Kapil

The email carrying the death threat states, “We are monitoring your recent activities and we believe it is important that we bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you, we urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.” The email has been signed off by the sender under the name ‘BISHNU.’

On December 14, 2024, Rajpal Yadav received an email ID Don from a man calling himself Bishnu, threatening to kill Kapil Sharma and his team as his show is being sponsored by Salman Khan. This led to immediate action, with Yadav’s wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, filing a police complaint at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai.

A case under section 351 (3) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, which deals with the threat of harm, has been registered at the Amboli police station in Mumbai. Security will be provided to Kapil Sharma and his team. The Amboli police have traced the IP address to Pakistan and are seeking help from the government to correspond with Pakistan. The recepient has been asked to reply within eight hours otherwise they’d face consequences on the personal and professional front.
